Paxos & Parga
Paxos is a small island just south of Corfu. According to mythology the idyllic island of Paxos was created by Poseidon where he entertained his lovers. The rugged landscape protects the sleepy villages as they nestle in the olive groves. The capital of Paxos is Gaios, with its tavernas and narrow streets. It is named after the disciple of St. Paul who had converted the local community to Christianity.
Sail down the Ionian Sea to this tranquil island, take in the untouched scenery and the opportunity to swim in some of the most inviting waters in Greece.
Parga is a pretty harbour town. The buildings are in terraces across the hillside and steps between them meander up to the Venetian castle on the summit. Waterside tavernas line the promenade and boast some of the finest Greek cuisine. In the bay sharp boulders rise out of turquoise water like strange petrified beasts; a tiny monastery perches on on e of these, half hidden by the overgrown foliage.
